Notes: Sky conditions have improved since the observation of Arp 309 earlier in the night. I studied this field for longer than usual but was unable to see much at all. Arp 147 was no more than a faint round patch seen intermittently with AV. The view was marginally better without the filter. I suspect Arp 147 would benefit from more magnification than I have usefully available. The best professional images available show both galaxies are amazing rings e.g. look at http://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ic2a.htm#ic298
