Notes: A conspicuous object comprising a stellar core in a 4:1 oval halo aligned NNW–SSE. I could see a hint of a dark area on the SE side of the nucleus. Comparison to CCD images reveals dark lanes at this location between the core and a starburst region further out, so it seems to be real and not a contrast effect. |
