Notes: Nicknamed ‘The Medusa’ because structure in the central region resembles an eye. There is a bright non-stellar core elongated in ratio 3:2 and aligned NS. The core is embedded in a larger halo which is more extensive to the S. The halo is also more or less similarly elongated. The extent of the halo is difficult to determine because it is very faint and simply fades out to nothing. I did not detect any of the structure that gives the galaxy its nickname. |
