Notes: Awesome and rare viewing conditions behind a cold front clearing to the E. Arp 322 is 8 mins S of Arp 214. Both Arps in the zenith, seen easily with DV. Arp 214 has an irregular outline. There is lots of vague structure, arms or plumes etc, seen mostly with AV. This is all very low contrast and difficult to pin down. There is no brightening toward the centre and no core. There are suggestions of dark structure but again difficult to pin down. |
