Notes: Arp 315 is within the Abell 779 cluster. Fainter galaxies were seen easily in improving conditions. NGC 2832: (12.3m) an evenly illuminated 3:2 oval aligned NS. NGC 2831: (14.7m) a round glow SW of and in contact with 2832. NGC 2830 (15.3m) is a razor thin line with no visible bulge. Seen and held with DV despite the catalogued mag. High surface brightness helps. Also in the same eyepiece field and seen easily with DV were NGC 2826 (14.6m) and NGC 2825 (15.3m). In addition PGC 139185 (16.2m) was seen using AV. All three are elliptical. 2825 and 139185 both have their major axes aligned towards the principal galaxy 2832. |
