Notes: A fine sight. This pair forms a triplet with NGC 3222 preceding in the same eyepiece field. The pair are seen to have similar luminosity and surface brightness. 3226 is round and 3227 elongated 2:1. The major axis of 3227 is not quite aligned with the centre of 3226. The halos of the galaxies overlap; there is no gap between the two. |
