The main instrument is a massive fork-mounted 14-inch f.20/f.5 Classical Cassegrain/Newtonian created in 1974 by Astronomical Equipment Limited of Harpenden, for Sheffield University. I have rebuilt the telescope (2017 to 2021) and modernised it with improved floating worm drives, modern electronic stepper motors and controls, and improved light baffles. Secondary telescopes are the original 3-inch Irving refractor plus a moden Altair EDT130 APO refractor for wide-field views.
