Notes: There is a ground mist aggravating light pollution. M104 is the Sombrero Galaxy, caught due S at maximum altitude. The round core is very bright. The arms extend out from it roughly EW, the extension to the E seems a little greater than to the W. A prominent dark lane with a hard N edge runs the entire length of the galaxy just S of the core. The part of the core lying S of this dark lane is a very subtle, delicate feature not easily visible in these conditions. |
