Notes: M47 shows up well in the 50mm finder. It is too big for the 50 arcmin field of the eyepiece to see the cluster in its setting. There are about 10 really bright cluster stars, one of which is a close pair. It is loose, not dense. Another cluster, NGC 2423, is visible about 50 arcmin to the NNE. It is about 10 or 12 arcmin diameter. This is one of the Herschel 400. |
