Notes: This is a hurried observation as the sky clouded up. Arp 228 is round, concentrated in the middle with a non-stellar core. Visibility of the companion MCG+2-5-39 on the SE edge was hit-and-miss even with AV. A galaxy not part of the Arp object, UGC 1266 (14.6m), is just W of the pair, and was visible only using AV. Weather prevented me looking for any of the other nearby faint galaxies. |
