Notes: A rare night of very transparent air. In the zenith M31is perhaps the best I’ve seen from England. However a series of aircraft vapour trails running N-S and drifting from E-W are interfering now. As with this session’s previous target, Arp 98, seeing this object was still a struggle. I could see VV341a with AV for about half the time. It is an oval haze ratio 2:1 with the major axis aligned NW-SE. I could not see the hooked arm. VV341b was not seen, not surprising given it is 17.0m. |
